MARTIN PLACE

Be Design had the honour to creatively direct and work alongside the brilliant team at Forum Group Events & Marketing for their client South African Tourism to transform Martin Place in Sydney CBD into an experiential activation pop up for the ‘Beat Your Bucket’ Campaign. The design aimed to transcend the digital space in making people connect with the culture, people and one of South Africa’s most desired bucket list experiences ‘a Safari’.
DELIVERABLES_
The result was a multi-zone activation which brought an authentic, immersive South African Safari experience directly to the people in Martin Place.
The hero of the experience featured a 10m Dome with the entire ceiling projected with footage that explored the immersive experience of the South African Safari.
Circular spatial design was purposefully integrated into the design thinking to optimise the flow of people through the space around a central focus, creating a sense of inclusiveness, connection and community. Thus the cultural icon of South Africa, a Boma was featured at the hearth of the dome, which encouraged participants to congregate and move around the space, until their focus moved up to the projection on walls and ceiling.
